Stop or interrupt studies
You may interrupt your studies and continue at a later point in time. Please note that an interruption could cause extra delay in your studies. In case you have specific questions about the planning of your study programme upon return, please contact your faculty’s academic counsellor.
If you decide to cancel/interrupt your studies, please terminate your enrolment through Studielink.

When you terminate your enrolment, please note the following:
- 90 days after termination of enrolment, your access to TU Delft’s facilities and services will be deactivated (e-mail account, Brightspace, study facilities).*
- You forfeit any future use of TU Delft’s housing services.
- If you have accommodation arranged through TU Delft’s housing services, please note that you will have the option to terminate your contract with a 1 months’ notice (before the 1st or 16th day of the month).
- For information about reimbursement of your tuition fee and general information about termination of enrolment, see the TU Delft website.
- Check the validation or your (student) health insurance. You may have to adjust your insurance and re-activate it upon your return.
* Please note that any former student who uses TU Delft’s facilities or academic guidance services after termination of his/her enrolment will be fined.

When you re-enrol, please note the following:
- You must re-enrol in Studielink.
- You can resume your studies at the beginning of the first semester (September). If you wish to start in the second semester (February), you need approval from your faculty. More information about late enrolment can be found here.
- You must send an e-mail to contactcentre-esa@tudelft.nl about your return at least 3 months before your expected arrival.
- You have to enrol for courses in BIS during the regular enrolment period, which you can find in the Academic & Graduation calendar. If you are not a student at the time of the enrolment period, you can enrol with a guest account. For any questions, please contact enrolment-bk@tudelft.nl.

When you terminate your enrolment, please note the following:- TU Delft will report to the IND that you have terminated your enrolment. You are obliged to leave the country as soon as possible. In the Netherlands, your visa is only valid for studying.
When you re-enrol, please note the following:
- You must meet all MoMi requirements to re-enrol.
- You have to pay the most current tuition fee and living cost. The living cost is needed to arrange your (new) visa/residence permit.
