Grant information
This grant is intended for students who will do an internship/Multi-Disciplinary Project as part of their study programme inside and outside the EU. TU Delft has a yearly budget to administer this grant and it will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The amount of the IIF grant is a one-off compensation to the amount of €250 for outside Europe destinations and €100 for all European destinations. It will be paid to you in one instalment after your return and upon receipt of your TU Delft Transcript of Records or Study Progress Overview.
Students planning to do an internship in the following countries may apply for this grant: Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius en Saba.
Eligibility
- You are enrolled to study at TU Delft and will maintain your full-time enrollment during your stay abroad.
- Your tuition fees are paid to TU Delft.
- You have at least started your 2nd year of study (for Bachelor students a minimum 45 ECTS already obtained).
- You are not an exchange student at TU Delft.
- The internship/MDP is part of your TU Delft academic programme and is worth a minimum of 10 ECTS
- It is not part of your Master graduation project.
- Your internship income is less than €1000 net per month.
- You have not received the IIF Fund grant before.
- You do not receive any other grants from a TU Delft mobility fund (ERASMUS+, JvE, IDEA League student research grant, Holland Scholarship, STIR, TU Delft | Global Initiative, FAST fund) in addition to the IIF grant.
- The internship does not take place in your country of origin or where you currently reside.
Application Procedure
Before Mobility Period
- Complete the application form ‘International Internship Fund Statement (IIF) Step 1.
- Ask your faculty internship coordinator/supervisor/coordinator to complete and sign Step 2 and Step 3.
- Register a new stay abroad in MyTUDelft (this ensures we know where you are should anything occur in your country of residence, and you also receive free TU Delft travel insurance).
- Submit the complete application and IIF Statement signed by your faculty before the start date of the internship
- Make sure you click SUBMIT at the end of application and check you receive an automatic notification confirming your application for a IIF grant has been received.
- Within 2 weeks you will receive an email notification about your IFF application.
- All applications for the grant submitted after the start date will be cancelled.
- Should you receive other TU funding, cancel your application in Osiris and send an email to outgoingglobal-esa@tudelft.nl
During Mobility
- Should you not start or complete your project/internship abroad after applying, contact outgoingglobal-esa@tudelft.nl
- Did you receive other TU funding, contact outgoingglobal-esa@tudelft.nl
After Mobility Period
- Upload your TU Delft Transcript of Records or Study Progress Overview showing the obtained credit (minimum 10 EC) in your Grant request in MyTUDelft within 6 months after concluding your Internship/research.
- If you decide to terminate your student enrolment after your return, ensure you upload your proof of credits before doing this. Without an enrolment, payment of the grant cannot be made.
Terms and conditions
- You are to refrain from engaging in activities of a political and/or commercial nature during your time abroad that could damage the reputation of TU Delft.
- You must register your internship abroad contact details in MyTUDelft. This will keep us informed of where you are should anything happen in your area, and you will receive FREE TU Delft Travel Insurance.
- Before the start date of your internship/project, you will submit your application along with the signed and completed form “International Internship Fund Statement“.
- Grant applications not submitted on time will be cancelled.
- If your application is incomplete, it will be returned to you once to correct. An incomplete application will not be processed.
- The transcript of records must be uploaded in MyTUDelft within 6 months after the conclusion of the internship.
- Students will receive 2 reminders after the 6-month deadline to submit the document. If the document is not received your document before thie final date, the grant awarded to you will expire.
- Should your internship abroad not commence, or be terminated early, you will need to inform TU Delft immediately via outgoingglobal-esa@tudelft.nl.
- You must keep TU Delft informed of the outcome of any external grant applications. TU Delft has the right to withdraw the IIF scholarship or to demand (partial or whole) repayment of sums already paid, in case an external grant is awarded to the student.
- All communication will take place via students TUD email accounts. Ensure you check your email regularly.
