EmailingIt is possible to send an email to your entire class or a subset of your class in Brightspace. MS Teams Teams is the digital hub for Microsoft 365 (M365) bringing conversations, content, and apps together in one place. You can use Teams to communicate and collaborate with groups of students, lecturers, and staff in any combination. Within a group (team) you can chat, have online (video) meetings, share and collaborate on documents and more. Requires students and lecturers to be added to a Team -

Tool Name Description Special remarks Virtual Classroom (Bongo) Virtual classroom tool, suitable for online interactive classroom sessions (Session max: 150 participants per session, 240 minutes), screen sharing & virtual whiteboard tools integrated, recording sessions and optional publishing of recordings to a Brightspace course offering. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. MS Teams –
Meetings (< 300 participants)Video conferencing tool with screen sharing, breakout rooms and optional recording within Teams. Teams is an online collaboration platform that can be used to communicate and collaborate with groups of students, lecturers, and staff in any combination. MS Teams Webinars allows you to have a controlled interactive meeting with up to 1,000 participants. If you have under 300 participants. Webinars differ from Live Events in the fact that participants are able to interact with the presenter. Require attendees to register. MS Teams –
Live Events (300 - 10.000 participants)MS Teams Live Events enable you to broadcast your lecture to up to 10.000 participants. Students (attendees) can only listen, watch and -if you enable it- ask questions in the Q&A chat. Zoom Video-conferencing tools (like Virtual Classroom) with screen sharing, breakout rooms and optional recording. Not integrated with Brightspace. Be aware that Zoom is not GDPR compliant and not supported by the TU Delft helpdesk because it is temporarily available. Skype for Business Tool for video and audio communication with individuals and groups. Available to all TU Delft employees and not for students. Skype for Business communicates with normal Skype, but doesn’t have a screen sharing option. -
Tool Name Description Special remarks Kaltura Do-it-yourself video tool for recording from webcam/screencasting (i.e. ppt or screen) & video repository for videos created with Kaltura tool or other video tools. From the repository, videos can be integrated and reused in Brightspace course content. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. Do-it-yourself studios Teaching Lab and NewMedia Centre An on-campus studio booth to record your own presentations. The large green screen studio is now available upon request. Please visit the NMC website for further information. Collegerama Service to record or live-stream your lecture in lecture halls. Recording is available directly after the lecture and can be played back anytime, anywhere. It’s possible to edit recordings and add questions and annotations to specific times in the video. More information can be found on the Collegerama website. Brightspace - Media Library The Media Library allows you to upload, edit, and manage media files for use in your Brightspace course. It also includes access to the Capture Web app, which allows you to create media recordings, such as presentations and videos, directly from your browser. -

GroupsCreating groups of students can facilitate communication or group work. Unlimited group categories, max 200 groups per category, max group size: 200 students. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. Brightspace –
Self-enrollment group toolTool to facilitate students enrolling themselves in their self-preferred groups. Max 200 groups per self-enrollment set-up. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. Tool for video and audio communication with individuals and groups and to work together on documents. Available to everyone at TU Delft, supported by ICT Teams and TLS. Foswiki implements the Wiki idea of a shared whiteboard where anyone can add content or change what is written or change the organization of the content. Access needs to be requested through TLS support for new users. Overleaf Overleaf is an online collaborative scientific writing and publishing tool. It is designed to make the process of writing, editing, and producing scientific papers much quicker for authors. Vocareum Vocareum offers a cloud-based platform for hosting and deploying Jupyter Notebook, a platform for Python programming in an educational context, and is suitable for multiple users. Key capabilities of the platform include grading automation, plagiarism detection, providing feedback on code, team projects, and peer reviews. Not to be used for Summative Testing. Choose between Jupyter Notebook and JupyterLab. -
Tool Name Description Special remarks FeedBackFruits – Interactive Audio Tool to help students engage with the material posted in Feedbackfruits before class with inline questions and discussions. This can be a graded activity. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. FeedBackFruits – Interactive Document In a document uploaded to Feedbackfruits, students can see Inline questions and peer discussions linked to specific parts of the document to trigger the student to actively engage with the study material. This can be a graded activity. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. FeedBackFruits – Interactive Video In a video posted to FeedbackFruits, students can see inline questions and peer discussions linked to specific times in the video to trigger the student to actively engage with the study material. This can be a graded activity. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required Vevox Vevox is a campus-wide engagement tool for synchronous (live) polling. Vevox allows lecturers and staff to create polls, quizzes, surveys and Question & Answer sessions to increase engagement and interactivity in face-to-face as well as remote or hybrid seminars, workshops, meetings and events. Vevox can be integrated into Powerpoint and is supported by TLS. H5P H5P (HTML5 Package) is a TU Delft Supported tool for educators and support staff. It enables them to enhance the effectiveness of online or blended learning by adding interactive and multimedia elements. H5P is available by default for all Brightspace courses. -
Tool Name Description Special remarks BuddyCheck is a simple to set-up and use peer evaluation tool which allows students to evaluate each team member’s performance in a group activity, as well as perform a self-assessment. FeedbackFruits Peer Review enables instructors to create assignments for students to provide feedback to their peers on deliverables like documents or videos based on predefined criteria. -
Tool Name Description Special remarks Ans Ans is the standard assessment tool for the entire TU Delft. Can be used for Digital and Print-scan exams. Assignment tooling that facilitates submitting (by students & groups), assessing, annotation and feedback on submitted assignments. Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. Test your students’ understanding of the content or their prior knowledge, with quizzes. Grasple Grasple enables you to collaboratively create and share openly licensed exercises for math and statistics. Only for formative testing. Plagiarism detection tool available within Brightspace Assignments Available in every Brightspace Course offering, no special access is required. A tool for scanning and analyzing on-paper multiple choice exams. Scanning needs to be done by Exam Support, the paper exams need to be handed in at the ESA desk (ContactCentre).
