TU Delft minors for students from Leiden and Rotterdam

If you study at Leiden University or Erasmus University Rotterdam, you can choose to minor at your own university or at TU Delft.

- Make a top 5 list of minors that interest you.
If a minor is full, you have an alternative.
- Check when you can apply for this minor and put it in your calendar.
Is there an elective minor? Then it will automatically be your first choice.
- Register on time.
- Browse all the thematic minors on eduXchange.
For a thematic minor in Delft, you register via Eduxchange. There are different registration periods, so check in advance when you can apply for your preferred thematic minor.
Selection minors
For a selection minor, in addition to a timely (pre-)registration via EduXchange, you may be required to submit additional documents. Read the information in EduXchange under the heading 'good to know' to find out what type of selection is applied and what the deadlines are for submitting the additional criteria. For Delft thematic selection minors, you can apply in April. The results will be communicated in the first week of May.

Please note - You can only withdraw your pre-registration during the registration period in April. Once you have been selected and finally placed in a selection minor, you cannot deregister. You can register for a maximum of 30 EC during this regirstration period.
Non-selection minors
Direct registration based on your current degree programme applies to non-selection minors. There is a limited number of places available. It is therefore possible that the minor of your choice will already be full. You can apply in May for non-selection thematic minors in Delft.

You can deregister via MyTUDelft with an active net-ID (your Delft student-ID) if you have registered for a thematic minor at TU Delft and decide not to participate. You cannot deregister via Eduxchange or your own university. After 31 August deregistration is no longer possible.
If you have any problems with the deregistration process, please contact the Study Programme Administration. State your TU Delft student number and the Delft minor for which you wish to deregister. (Processing may take up to 5 working days).
Please note - once placed and enrolled on a selection minor, you cannot deregister. Not even via email.

- Most of the minors have a size of 30 EC.
- You can have a maximum of 30 credits of minor registration per year
- You can only register for thematic minors to which your bachelor's programme is eligible.
- For selection minors, you will receive notification of possible placement at the beginning of May.
- For non-selection minors, you will be informed immediately whether you have been placed.

TU Delft only offers thematic minors in the first semester. In the second semester, you can only take individual courses, if this is allowed.

It may be the case that another university has a different academic year than TU Delft.
This may have an impact on your further studies at that university. Be sure to have a look at the academic year structure beforehand. -
The timetables of Delft minors is known in July/August. The timetables and arrangement of blocks/semesters at other educational institutes may differ. So, pay attention to when the minor of your choice starts and ends.

The regulations governing your programme apply to including your minor in your examination programme. Please consult these regulations and your programme and examination board if you have any questions.

To pass a thematic minor, you must take it in its entirety and complete it with a passing grade.
Completion of the minor is subject to the regulations of the relevant programme under which your chosen minor falls. If you have any questions, please contact the Minor Coordinator of the relevant thematic minor.

Following a minor requires a full-time commitment (40 hours per week). Therefore, it is not possible to follow to two minors at the same time.
