Objective
Preliminary design of radical aircraft configurations, optimized for the integration of Hybrid Electric Propulsion (HEP) systems.
- Selection of HEP based technologies for next generation short and medium range transport aircraft.
- Selection of new airframe components, layouts and technologies with a focus towards propulsion integration and propulsion system architecture development
- Simulations/Experiments with key technologies
- Development and selection of promising airframe concepts, methods and components
- Support of demonstration of advanced aircraft concepts through Scaled Flight Testing
The objective of D08 is to demonstrate and de-risk the application of distributed electric propulsion. To this end a scaled flying demonstrator with leading edge distributed propulsion is being built and tested by the D08 partners.
