Low Speed Wind Tunnels

The low speed wind tunnels offer test sections of different sizes (largest 2.85 x 2.85 meters) and various speeds in the subsonic regime up to 120 meters/second. Below you can find an overview of these tunnels and more information about them.

Open Jet Facility

Closed circuit, Test section 2.85 x 2.85m, Max. speed 35 m/sec, Max. runtime at 35m/sec: approx. 1 hour.

Low Turbulence Tunnel

Closed circuit, Test section 1.25 x 1.80 m, Max. speed 120 m/sec, turbulence level < 0.1%, six component balance, automatic multi-manometer

W-Tunnel

Open circuit, Test section 0.4 x 0.4 m, Max. speed 35 m/sec, low turbulence

A-Tunnel

Open circuit, Test section 0.6 m diameter, Max. speed 45 m/sec, high flow quality, turbulence level < 0.1%

M-Tunnel

Open/closed circuit, Test section 0.4 x 0.4 m, Max. speed 35 m/sec (open circuit) or 50 m/sec (closed circuit), low turbulence
