Anthony Fokkerweg closed from Monday, May 13th

What

The Anthony Fokkerweg will be closed to traffic coming from the direction of Watermanweg.

Where

At the location of Logistics & Environment (L&M), Anthony Fokkerweg 5. Contractor BAM has started work around L&M, for which a work area has been cordoned off. Part of the work also needs to be carried out on/under the Anthony Fokkerweg, necessitating a closure.

When

From Monday, May 13th, the Anthony Fokkerweg at the location of L&M will be closed to traffic coming from the direction of Watermanweg. The closure will last until Monday, June 17th.

Impact

The closure means, for example, that motorists heading towards the parking lot next to Fellowship must drive through the L&R parking lot, and cyclists from Mekelweg will have to cross twice to take the next exit via Kluyverpark. Traffic controllers will ensure a safe situation on site. The disabled parking space at L&M will not be available during the works.

The works in the area are necessary because part of the cables and pipes currently run under the L&M terrain. Due to the construction of Physics, these cables and pipes are being relocated to the surrounding terrain. This will prevent them from obstructing the construction once it begins.
