Network and Wifi for students

Are you experiencing problems with TU Delft's ICT resources? Then check the reports page for possible malfunctions.

Network

The TU Delft buildings are provided with both fixed and wireless network connections. The facilities ensure that you are flexible regardless of where and when you are trying to work, whether you are at your own department, in another building or even at other universities both in the Netherlands and abroad.

A standard network connection has a theoretical maximum speed of 1000 Mb/sec when using the fixed internet connection.

Moreover, the ICT facilities are designed to enable you to work on your laptop, tablet, or mobile phone.

How does it work?

Your NetID and password allow you to use the TU Delft network. You do not have to apply for this.

You may use both fixed and wireless network connections. The advantage of using the fixed network is that it is even quicker than the wireless network, especially if you work with large files.

Wifi for students

What does it mean?

Eduroam, the wireless network from the TU Delft, is a secure campus network that is accessible from inside buildings (not on Mekelpark) and on four squares in the centre of Delft. You can also use your NetID and password to use the Eduroam network at other education and research institutes worldwide. Guests from other institutions participating in the SURFnet authentication infrastructure can use Eduroam on our campus.

How does it work?

To use Wi-Fi, log on with your NetID@tudelft.nl as username and your password. You will then be connected to the network automatically. For more information you can read the manual.
