Student Experiences
I am very grateful for the support extended to me through the Justus and Louise van Effen Research Grant. This support enabled me to follow my dream and embark on my research journey at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology during my master's thesis. This invaluable opportunity has profoundly enriched both my academic pursuits and personal growth. The grant application process was very straightforward, and the support and assistance from everyone involved made the entire experience even more rewarding. My time at MIT has not only contributed significantly to my education at TU Delft but has also proven to be a unique chapter in my life. The knowledge gained, both academically and personally, has been immeasurable, shaping my perspective and further fueling my passion for research and learning.

- Research Project/Internship
I conducted research in the Quantum Devices Lab. My research consisted of the design of optomechanical crystals. These are nanoscale devices meant to enable the communication between future quantum computers. My daily work consisted of implementing new potential designs in COMSOL Multiphysics, as well as developing theoretical models for their performance. I had the most amazing time during my internship, and I would recommend anyone interested in research to experience a similar stay.
