Integrity
Fulfilling TU Delft's mission – impact for a better society – requires the continuous efforts of all those associated with the university: students, employees and guests. TU Delft's integrity policies are intended to support and protect us, as members of the academic community, in our daily activities on and around campus. The focus is on legal limits (rules, risks, prevention and enforcement) as well as on encouraging careful decision-making and moral learning in an open culture.
TU Delft Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct exists to help staff members, students and guests to act in line with the values that we find important, even in complex situations. For example, how should you respond if you see behaviour that you consider to be inappropriate? The code sets out what is meant by our core values: Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Engagement, Courage, and Trust (DIRECT). The code also contains the TU Delft Integrity Statement, with the basic guidelines that all are expected to act in accordance with. It also explains the responsibilities of staff members, students, guests and TU Delft as an organisation.
TU Delft Integrity Roadmaps
The Integrity Roadmap for Staff and Integrity Roadmap for Students lay out the various pathways to getting any help you might need regarding integrity matters. These two interim roadmaps have replaced the previously existing Integrity Roadmap, which was no longer up to date. The Integrity Office will be developing a new visual guide in early 2024, together with all people involved. If you have any questions about or feedback on the interim Integrity Roadmaps for staff and/or students, or suggestions for the future visual guide, please let us know via integrity@tudelft.nl, or submit your comments here.
TU Delft Vision on Integrity 2018-2024
How do we deal with our responsibilities towards each other and towards society? It is important to regularly consider this together ánd to take action if necessary. This was reason for the TU Delft Executive Board to establish the “TU Delft Vision on Integrity 2018-2024”. The Vision takes compliance with the Institutions’ duties of care as described in the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity, that entered into force on 1 October 2018.
TU Delft Integrity Office
TU Delft strives to be both a leading university and a great place to work. At the heart of this lie our core values: Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Engagement, Courage, and Trust (DIRECT). The coordination of the TU Delft policies and activities on integrity lies with the Integrity Office. Whether you’re a student, a staff member or a guest at TU Delft, we can help you with your questions on integrity, and what to do if you have a specific query. We also want to hear your thoughts about integrity, integrity policy and what more we can do here at TU Delft.

TU Delft Integrity Board
The Executive Board is, as of 2018, advised by the TU Delft Integrity Board (IB). The Chair of the IB also acts as TU Delft Integrity Officer. The IB functions as a sounding board to the Executive Board, and can put matters regarding integrity, arising as requested or unsolicited advice, on the Executive Board agenda. For this reason, a conscious decision has been made to secure a broad range of perspectives in the IB, including those of a student, a PhD candidate, a management assistant, a confidential advisor and a professor. Because of the interface with the themes ‘Diversity & Inclusion’, the Chief Diversity Officer is also a member of the IB.
The current composition of the Integrity Board is as follows:
- Ibo van de Poel (TPM, chair and Integrity Officer)
- Bernard Dam (AS / confidential advisor)
- Julie Diender (EEMCS)
- Ada van Gulik (EEMCS / confidential advisor)
- Christiaan Mooiman (AS / confidential advisor)
- Eline op ten Noort (I&IC)
- Aashna Mittal (CEG & TPM)
- Cynthia Liem (EEMCS)
- David Keyson (IDE, Chief Diversity Officer)
