Marta Ribeiro attends the AIAA Scitech Forum 2024 in Orlando
At the beginning of January, I (Marta Ribeiro) had the pleasure of participating in the AIAA SciTech Forum 2024 in Orlando, where I presented two papers produced at our section. One paper covered the prediction of non-routine maintenance tasks, showcasing a model developed by a PhD candidate from our section, Haonan Li. The second highlighted a potential framework for the certification of reinforcement learning applications in air transportation.
I was joined by roughly other 20 colleagues from TU Delft. Several of our PhD candidates presented their research, leaving a good impression on audience members who were impressed by the quality of our contributions.
It was an impressive conference, with more than 6000 attendees and 3000 technical sessions. Many interesting ideas were shared during the keynote speeches and technical presentations. Many defended that aerospace has to increase its set of `tools’, to include more computer science subjects, taking into the increased autonomy necessary for the future of operations in air transportation.
Finally, TU Delft featured a stand in the exposition hall, with the expectation that this exposure will attract new talents to join TU Delft in the days to come.
