Optical excitation

One of the key parameters to vary in a TRMC experiment is the intensity of the excitation light. By recording TRMC traces over a wide intensity regime allows us to determine the physical processes responsible for the charge carrier generation and decay.  The high sensitivity of the TRMC set-up enables measurements at very low incident laser pulses. See here how we extract kinetic parameters including mobilities and recombination rates from TRMC measurements. To reduce the light intensity we have developed an array of metallic neutral density filters which can be inserted into the optical pathway by remotely controlled pneumatic system.
