Computation-Guided Energy Materials discovery (C-GEM)

“C-GEM” research group led by Dr. Poulumi Dey focusses on computation-guided design of materials for sustainable and renewable energy application.

The mission of C-GEM is to pave the way towards a more sustainable future by designing materials for sustainable energy applications based on multi-scale simulation approach combined with machine learning. We envision to achieve this by conducting research to (i) facilitate efficient large scale H2 storage and production by the identification and optimization of materials (ii) accelerate the deployment of safe, flexible and efficient H2 grid by repurposing existing gas networks and identifying new pipeline materials which are immune to hydrogen embrittlement (iii) tailor properties of materials (e.g., high entropy alloys) for energy related applications e.g. improved energy conversion efficiency for thermoelectric application, optimize catalysts for fuel cell application, etc.
