“Going abroad was amazing - I got to dive into a whole new culture, learn a ton, and grow as a person. And thanks to the Erasmus scholarship, I had the support I needed to make the most of every moment”.
“To anyone who is thinking of doing an exchange: definitely do! It is really fun to see how education is organized in other countries and it is so cool that a different country really can feel like home in a short time. During this exchange, I got to know many people with so many different backgrounds and cultures and it was so much fun to talk about differences, and similarities and laugh with them. I loved getting to know the Swedish culture better and am so excited that I learned a bit of a new language! Back in the Netherlands, I will try to find the Swedish “lagom” as well, I will go more often in nature as I found that this gives me so much energy. In one sentence, I would describe my exchange as a Swedish adventure with friends from all over the world”.
“Getting used to a new place, dealing with differences in culture, and managing everyday tasks in an unfamiliar setting needed me to be strong and flexible. But facing and overcoming these challenges helped me grow a lot. I learned to be more independent, improve my problem-solving skills, and become better at adapting to different cultures. These qualities are really important in today's connected world”.
“Being abroad showed me how being myself is more than enough”.
“This experience showed me how beautiful nature can be, how big challenges some scientific study fields (like hydrology in Norway) face and how fulfilling it is to work on a structured and disciplined daily schedule”.
“My Erasmus+ experience in Copenhagen was an unforgettable journey of academic excellence and personal growth. It broadened my horizons, connected me with brilliant minds, and enriched my understanding of the global wind energy landscape. I am immensely grateful for the support from TU Delft and the Erasmus+ scholarship, which made this transformative adventure possible”.
“Reflecting on my overall experience and scholarship, I can confidently say that Milan introduced me to a new culture, a new way of living, and a city I’ll forever hold dear. The personal development and cultural immersion in Milan have left a mark, and I anticipate a return in the near future”.
“The exchange to Prague in Czech Republic has been one of my best decisions. From the friends I made to the memories I shared with them; it has been the most amazing semester I could have wished for. Never did I expect to experience such an exchange, and I am glad I am able to look back at it as the best five months of my life”.
“Join the introduction week, this might be needless to say, but not less true because of it. Participating is your first opportunity to make friends on exchange. Everyone is new and looking to meet people, plus there are some fun activities planned. The people I met that week remain ed my closest friends throughout the entire semester”.
“For my accommodation, I was not provided one by the host university, thus having had to arrange one myself. In order to find an accommodation, I contacted the host university, asking for a list of the students from there that would be doing an exchange at TU Delft and their respective email addresses. From there, I contacted them asking if they would be interested in exchanging rooms, this is, I would stay in their room in Göteborg, and they would stay in mine in Delft, having then found a room in a student housing building. That way, I managed to get a better and cheaper room, saving myself and the other student a big hassle”.
