Agora Solutions
Agora Solutions is an interdisciplinary team consisting out of three students from Computer Science and Civil Engineering: Jip, Tom and Francis. They received the Ambitious Project grant to conduct research on responsibly cultivating seaweed.
They want to create data-driven solutions for responsible aquaculture, starting with seaweed cultivation. With their project they want to ensure that all ocean farmers have the opportunity to make efficient (for themselves) and responsible (for the planet) decisions. With the fund they will conduct research at the farmsides and do measurements in the Atlantic sea.
“More research into the large-scale growing of seaweed is essential. At present, knowledge about its impact on the ecosystem is limited. We hope to research this impact in our fieldwork and to help the sector grow sustainably. We will use the FAST contribution to acquire measuring equipment and for research on location.”
