I have been working...
...at, what is now called, X since 1985. I started at the Sports Center as a baseball and softball teacher, but was eventually also asked to start boxing. Since then I have become the regular boxing teacher.
I look at teaching...
...as a kind of upbringing. I see lots of different people in my lessons and all sorts of nationalities. They come together and become one. By working together, having to rely on each other, they not only have fun, but they also learn valuable cooperation skills.
Over the years...
...it has all become much more professional. Everything used to be more informal, but that also matched the size. Although you sometimes miss the old us-know-us feeling, but that also means that we now teach with much more people and can also offer a broader program.
For me personally...
...this corona period is very intense. Due to my health condition, I fall under the risk target group and therefore have to be extra careful, no matter how healthy I live. What keeps me going is mainly staying positive and to keep looking ahead. Especially by looking at what is still possible. Routine is really a matter of willpower and perseverance. Sometimes not easy, but it is necessary. For example, make a schedule, write it down and stick to it as much as you can. And don't make it too difficult for yourself, break it down into small goals.
As a tip...
...to you, I would say; stay active and exercise. It is possible for everyone to do something, even if it is a small thing. Exercise is not only good for your body, but also for your head. And especially in these times that is so very important.
