The Street Seniors

"We are all retired, have children, some grandchildren and of course we want to keep exercising. That is what we do at X."

We play tennis...

...every Tuesday and Thursday at X. For over a decade already! We are a group of friends, all at least 80 years old with Chinese Indonesian and Dutch East Indies origins. We are former students and teachers at the Technical Higher School. What connects us besides tennis, age, origin and study? That is, of course, food. What’s in that box in front of us? Pasties! We eat together every two weeks. We meet up via the chat group ‘Hangoudjes' (‘Street Seniors’). Here we talk about gossip and fun things. We also go on holiday together every year. Here we can also play tennis with each other. This year we are visiting the Eiffel in Germany. The vacation has to be cheap. The previous years, we went to Sauerland. We are all retired, have children, some grandchildren and of course we want to keep exercising. That is what we do at X. But why is X called X?...
