Futurebuild 2019
Arjan van Timmeren and Alex Wandl (Urbanism, BK Bouwkunde TU Delft) discuss their ideas about circular cities with experts from all over the world at the Futurebuild 2019 event that will take place in London on 5-7 March 2019. The prototype of the REPAiR decision support system can be tested at the event.

Remanufacturing – Turning the building industry circular
On 22 January 2019, the Circular Built Environment Hub in collaboration with EIT Raw Materials organised a workshop on remanufacturing of building products at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. The event attracted stakeholders interested in moving the building industry towards a circular economy.

A kitchen for life
Together with producers and clients, researchers from BK Bouwkunde and the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS Institute) developed a prototype circular kitchen. This kitchen can be renewed almost indefinitely and adjusted to individual preferences, meaning it is a kitchen for life.

Sustainable critical materials
Critical materials are materials which we need for current and future product technologies, but which are now or soon difficult to acquire. BK Bouwkunde is part of the consortium SusCritMat, which aims to educate people from industry and academia about important aspects on critical materials.

Symposium The Circular Built Environment – Anatomy of the AMC
On 22 November, architects, engineers, researchers, professors and students will speak about circular deployment, approach and renovation of existing buildings and their environment. The largest building in the Netherlands – the AMC - serves as a case study.
