1. Academic Counsellors CEG

The academic counsellors of the CiTG faculty have open walk-in consultations hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for short questions (<5 min) from 12.45pm to 1.30pm. You can find the academic counsellors in the rooms 2.77, 2.77.1 and 2.79.
If you have a question that can be answered by email, please send an email to Studyadvisors-CEG@tudelft.nl.
It is also possible to schedule an online appointment or an appointment at the faculty. You can make this appointment via the online agenda. The agenda shows the availability of the academic counsellors for the next three weeks.

- Practicing top sports
- Doing a board year
The Academic Counsellors can inform about / refer to:
- The student doctor (Student Healthcare Delft)
- Career and Counselling Services:
- Student counsellors for legal and financial affairs, career counselling, dyslexia tests and studying with a disability
- Student psychologists for fear of failure, handling stress, depression, relational problems or special family circumstances, training in social skills, assertiveness and constructive thinking
- Career counsellors for study choice tests and career advice

Anything discussed during our sessions is confidential. The Academic Counsellor with whom you speak makes notes of the contact with you as a student in OSIRIS. The CEG Academic Counsellors do have acces to these notes if collegial consultation is necessary, and so that in the absence of the Academic Counsellor with whom you have contact, the guidance can be continued. No one else expect for the Academic Counsellors has access to these notes.
Consultation with a lecturer, student psychologist, student counsellor, career counsellor and/or study choice counsellor is not allowed without your permission.We will therefore always ask you for permission for exchange of information with other parties.

4. BSA

The binding recommendation of continuation of studies applies to all BSc programmes at the TU Delft. The BSA standard of the TU Delft is 45 EC of the first-year courses. Please see BSA for all the regulations regarding the BSA.
In case of study delay, with or without personal circumstances, it is recommended to make an appointment with the Academic Counsellor.

You will not receive a BSA if you discontinue your studies before 1 February. You may therefore enroll for the same degree programme next year. Once again you have to earn 45 EC to receive a positive BSA. Please beware: when you will start at the same bachelor programme, EC obtained the previous year will not be included in the BSA results. In case you have obtained more than 15 EC in the previous year, you will have to obtain all remaining credits of your first year of study. If you terminate your enrolment after 1 February you will receive a BSA.

If you do not have a university bachelor degree that gives direct access to the education of the Master’s Degree programme, or you have a degree from a university of applied sciences, sometimes it is possible to do a bridging or convergence programme. These programmes are described in the Teaching and Examination Regulations of the MSc programme of your choice. Please consult the Academic Counsellor if you have more questions.

6. Studying with a disability

Always contact your Academic Counsellor as the counsellor will help you with a good study planning, may arrange extra time for examinations or may guide you in the direction of other parties within the TU Delft if other (facilitating) measures need to be taken.
7. Studying with special circumstances

Delft University of Technology supports students who successfully combine study and top-class sport and invests in development of talent inside and outside the lecture room. During the course of the degree programme, elite athletes can consult the academic counsellors and the top-class sports coordinator for advice and guidance.

At every TU Delft faculty work one or more Academic Counsellors. An Academic Counsellor provides information and advice about the study programme. In addition, an Academic Counsellor can provide information about the study, advice, guidance and mediation tailored to your personal situation. You can contact the Academic Counsellors with personal and study related questions or issues that might have impact on your academic success.
The Board of Examiners ensures that the degree programmes adhere to their Teaching and Examination Rules (TER, or “OER” in Dutch). The Board oversees examinations within the study programmes and determines whether students have acquired the required level of knowledge and skills for the awarding of the degree. Furthermore, the Board needs to undertake the tasks laid down in the different TERs, such as deciding on exemptions, extra resits, award cum laude etc. Another important task of the Board of Examiners is the internal and external quality assurance of the study programmes. The Board of Examiners is an independent body within the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences.

3. Exams

In general we do not have registration for education at the CEG faculty. You do have to register for the exams. Also, you do have to register for some projects. Have a look in the Study guide or on Brightspace, to see if registration is required.

Always discuss your circumstances and problem(s) with your Academic Counsellor. In case of unsatisfactory completion of an examination due to medical/psychic circumstances, you will be dependent on the resit or regular examination the following academic year. In exceptional cases, if the examination is your last course, the Board of Examiners will allow an extra resit. You can find the criteria for an extra resit here.
4. Study choice

5. BSA

In case of study delay, with or without personal circumstances, it is recommended to make an appointment with the Academic Counsellor as soon as possible.

You will not receive a BSA if you discontinue your studies before 1 February. You may therefore enroll for the same degree programme next year. Once again you have to earn 45 EC to receive a positive BSA. Please beware: when you will start at the same bachelor programme, EC obtained the previous year will not be included in the BSA results. If you have a complaint about TU Delft, or a particular faculty or staff member(s), it is important that you first attempt to resolve the problem with that staff member(s) or department directly. You should explain your complaint and ask for a response. If you are unable to resolve the matter in this way, you can contact the Central Complaints Desk for students, please see: TU Delft Central complaints desk for students
In case you would like to have advice on how to resolve the matter, contact your Academic Counsellor.

Always contact the lecturer involved to discuss the problem. The lecturer is able to correct your grade in Osiris within a certain amount of time or otherwise will inform the administration that a change has to be made.

Information about composing a so-called free minor, can be found here. Complete the free minor request form, fill out all the fields, discuss your proposal with a lecturer and have the form signed, attach all enclosures and send your request to: free-minor-ceg@tudelft.nl.
