Femke Braaksma
Where do you work?
I work as operational manager at Rijkswaterstaat, the executive arm of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. I take care of the daily management of a team with 22 (senior) consultants participating in the specialism of Traffic Management Systems and Spatial Quality & Design. As team leader I am responsible for the development of both specialism and my team members.
What have you learned from your study at IDE?
My technical knowledge enables me to contribute in the development of the specialism on a strategic level. Furthermore, I am able to communicate with every level of expertise. As an Industrial Design Engineer you participate in the triangle of technique, the (end-)user and the business, this triangle is the base of how I work and is also found within the different levels of Rijkswaterstaat as well as with developing and managing of the national infrastructure networks.
