Introduction programmes for Master, Exchange and bridging students
14-18 August 2023
Introduction TU Delft
The Introduction Programme is designed to help give you the best possible start to your studies in Delft. It is a fun, but intensive programme that introduces you to TU Delft, life in Delft, and to the multicultural student life that awaits you.
It is also a good opportunity to make new friends. Together with students from all over the world and from other faculties, as a team you will get to know each other, TU Delft's study culture and the academic skills you will need during your studies, which will start at a fast pace from September. During the introduction programme, you will learn skills such as project-based working and participate in workshops and lectures. You will also get a good impression of the many facilities and support that TU Delft offers to students. You can also become acquainted with social and (multi-)cultural student life in Delft during various activities.
This year’s Introduction Programme (IP) offers three core elements as a part of a comprehensive programme for students from all around the globe. These elements are: IP Social app, the IP Brightspace course, and the 5 day On Campus programme.
This programme has been painstakingly put together to assure a kickstart to your studies in Delft. Furthermore, your faculty and/or programme offers more specific introductions. You will be informed on those elements by the faculty.
TU Delft recommends you participate in all three elements of the Introduction Programme. Should you not be able to participate in the On Campus days, the other two elements and the three Q&A sessions offer a lot of information to further your start at TU Delft.
We look forward to meeting you during one or more elements of the Introduction Programme.
See you soon!

IP Social App
The first part of the Introduction Programme is the Social app. The aim of this app is to provide you information about Living in Delft, Student life, TU Delft campus, and the programme of the On Campus Introduction Programme itself. Within the app you will also be kept up to date with news items and events, so make sure to download the IP TU Delft app, when receiving a personal email when the app is live. You will be personally invited to download the social app after the registration deadlline of 4 August when the app will go live.
IP Brightspace course
Starts beginning of August!
Brightspace is TU Delft's collaborative learning environment and is used for almost all courses. The Introduction Programme Brightspace Course not only helps you to get familiar with this system, but also helps you get acquainted with the academic skills and study culture at TU Delft. It also contains information on the grading system, student charter, code of conduct, laptop project and on resources students can use while enrolled at TU Delft; e.g. Student IT Desks, the Library, study spaces, student well-being, academic counsellors, psychologists, workshops and much more.
On 29 July we will host a Q&A session to explain how to get in, and how the system works. Access to the Brightspace system will be activated on 1 or 2 August.
5 day On Campus IP
18-22 August
During the On Campus IP, you will get to know the campus and work with a group of fellow students. Getting to know new fellow students and making friends is just the beginning.
The On Campus programme consists of a group and individual activities to explore the campus, get to know TU Delft's study culture and practice academic skills you will need during your studies. You can also discover the many social and cultural opportunities that Delft's vibrant student life has to offer you, both within clubs and other options, such as X TU Delft's range of sports, games, arts, crafts, reflexion and lifestyle, among others.
You will be assigned to a team with students from all faculties and from all over the world. Each team also has a coach, a current TU student who can give a lot of information from their own experience.
After signing up for the On Campus Introduction Programme, you will receive a confirmation email the week before the event, including the name and contact details of your coach and the team you are assigned to.
Q&A Sessions (15, 22 and 29 July)
Before the start of your studies in summer, we are organising three online Q&A sessions. IP students and TU Delft student ambassadors will talk about topics such as what to expect from the IP summer 2024, the Social App, life in Delft and what is expected of you to study at TU Delft. You can also ask them questions and, as 'experience experts', they will answer your question.
If you don't have any questions, listening to the sessions will also be able to contribute to your knowledge about studying and living in Delft. The sessions will be in English.
The link to the sessions can be found on this page soon and on the IP Instagram.
-
During this Q&A session, you can ask questions about what the Introduction Programme entails and we will explain why it is important to take part in the programme for a good start at TU Delft.
The recording of the Q&A session which already took place on 15 July can be found here.
-
During this Q&A session, you can ask questions, as well as take questions from other students. The IP crew and a TU Delft student ambassador will be happy to answer your questions and provide information about moving to the Netherlands and Delft, living in Delft, and the opportunities offered by the rich student life in Delft.
The recording of the Q&A session which already took place on 22 July can be found here.
-
During this Q&A session, you can ask questions about what it's like to study at TU Delft, and what systems are used to do so. We will help you log into the IP Brightspace course and explain the basic functionalities of the system. Brightspace is TU Delft's learning and collaboration platform.
The IP Brightspace Course provides information about studying at TU Delft, student welfare and student life.
On the day, you can find the link here to attend the live online session.
Date: 29 July
Time: CET: 16:00 hrs
