Preethi Ramamurthy
After completing her Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in her home country India, Preethi decided to do her master's degree in the Netherlands at TU Delft. She chose to follow the MSc Embedded Systems, at the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science (EEMCS). Following that, she decided to sharpen her knowledge in the field of automotive, and chose the Post-Master Automotive System Design at Eindhoven University of Technology. After a short period at DAF trucks in Eindhoven she is currently working as IT Solution Designer at Daimler AG in Stuttgart, Germany.
Autonomous cars
Preethi is interested in the entire field of autonomous cars, be it the technology or the legal questions that will have to be answered in the future. Ten years ago nobody could have predicted how the introduction of smartphones would change the way of life forever. She compares the introduction of the self-driving car with that of the smartphone: "autonomous cars, if realized, will completely change the world as it functions today. I personally want to be a part of this change and see autonomous cars become a reality.”
Study MOOCs with the help of the Marina van Damme scholarship
In case Preethi wins the Marina van Damme scholarship, she would like to use the grant to follow Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in the field of data science and artificial intelligence. It is Preethi's dream to be able to contribute to the need to address important topics of mobility for society in the future. In a decade from now, she imagines herself leading a small group of people to solve the challenges in the field of autonomous vehicles. In addition, she wants to inspire and support young ladies who also want to excel in the field of autonomous cars.
I want to build up knowledge in the field of data science and artificial intelligence which play a key role in making the autonomous car a reality.
