Renewed IDE BSc programme kicks off with Education Inspirations and more!
On the 23rd of August, the bachelor revision team hosted Education Inspirations to mark the official launch of IDE’s renewed Bachelor in Industrial Design Engineering. During the hybrid event, 94 people (56 online and 36 in-person) joined in to celebrate the milestone and learn more about semester one and three of the new programme.
Attendees listened to talks by Ena Voûte dean of IDE, Sylvia Mooij programme director of the BSc, and course coordinators from Semester 1 (Silje Dehli, Bas Flipsen, Ianus Keller, Valentijn Visch, Sander Mulder) and Semester 3 (Arnold Vermeeren, Marco Rozendaal, Zjenja Doubrovski, Roy Bendor, Jeremy Faludi).
Education Inspirations was a great way to say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new BSc. The energy throughout the event was one of optimism and excitement. It was also the perfect lead up to the first day of classes on the 30th of August. We had the honour of welcoming 343 new bachelor students to IDE. From the minute they stepped through our doors, it was clear that they were ready to dive headfirst into the renewed BSc programme. The second-year students are also exploring the new renewed programme, while the third-year students will have to wait until next semester as they are currently off doing their minor of choice.
The three-year undergraduate programme will arm our students with the design tools, methods, and competencies they need to dream up and create the products, services, and systems required to tackle a complex future. We wish all of our students and teachers (new and old) the best of luck this academic year.
