2.3 Specialisation O - Operations: Traffic, Technology and Control

About

This specialisation focuses on the operational management and control of traffic and the technologies and methodologies facilitating it. Managing traffic operations in 'open' transport networks requires advanced technology and methodologies (traffic flow theory and models, railway operations, control theory, etc.).

This specialisation is related to the control of (systems of) equipment for continuous transport, which is largely based on physical transport phenomena as well as on logistic control of discrete transport systems using simulation. To understand and optimise these systems, one needs to know about distributed control, reuse of control software and real-time applications being applicable in the control of transport and logistics systems.
Courses are included on operational management and control as well as on discrete systems and simulation and on intelligent vehicles and technology.
