Hereby we would like to invite you for our next Delft Women in Science lunch meeting on Friday 22 January 2016, 12:00-13:00h at PSOR at the faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences.
The theme of this lunch meeting is 'Lessons learnt from gender policy at the faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences'.
The Dean of the faculty, Professor Bert Geerken, will give us an insight in the gender policy at the faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences and we will have a panel discussion about the gender policy and work/life balance with our host Dr. Merle de Kreuk, Assistant Professor Sanitairy Engineering, and led by Professor Marja Elsinga, Chair of DEWIS. Special guest is Dr. Doris van Halem, who won a 'For Women in Science Science' grant for her research into safe drinking water in developing countries. The prize, awarded by UNESCO and listed cosmetics company L’Oréal is awarded to excellent female scientists.
We will reflect on what gender policy has achieved and evaluate the 'Gender Boost' policy further during a panel discussion with Professor Bart van Arem, Dr. Leon Paassen, Dr. Susan Steele, Dr. Claire Chassagne and Dr. Auke Barnhoorn.
This is the first of a series of lunch meetings which will take place at every faculty of our university.
