Research
During the second year, you will yourself engage in research that is linked to ongoing research in the Department of Marine and Transport Engineering and Logistics. In the Transport Engineering and Logistics track, there is cooperation with the Transport Engineering and Logistics (TEL) section and the Ship Design and Operation section (SDPO).
Ongoing research is carried out in collaboration with industry, and you will be expected to contribute in particular by means of individualised assignments: literature, experiments (both in the field and in the lab), and design or simulation assignments. In so doing, you will learn about current developments in the industry and how you can apply both your scientific knowledge and your solution-oriented skills. In addition, you will have close contact with the industry and learn how to function in such an environment.
Examples of projects include:
- ‘Intelligent Control of Long High-Speed Moving Walkways’
- ‘Data Acquisition and Information Management in Intelligent Transport Systems’
- ‘Spillage prevention in bulk handling’
