It’s that time of year again! On Saturday 26 March 2022, you’ll have the chance to watch the annual Design Engineering Contest (DEC) at IDE. The finals consist of 11 student teams working on and using robots to try and build the tallest tower. The DEC is an elective course in semester six of the IDE bachelor’s programme.
Building a robot to compete in a challenge sounds like fun. But what if you have limited resources and time? DEC simulates a real-life design engineering experience. In other words… How to make something work with what you’ve got! This elective and contest is all about the nitty-gritty, nuts and bolts of creative engineering, but also about the roles people play within a team.
Come and experience this elimination-styled competition. The contest starts at 11:00, with the finals expected to take place at around 14:00 in front of the faculty.
Good to know:
- This is a great event for everyone, including family members!
- Bring your own lunch, so that you don’t get hungry from all the excitement
- IDE Professor Alessandro Bozzon will be one of the jury members
