Academic Counsellors ME
Christmas period
Please note that the academic counsellors will be out of office during the holiday period. There are no walk-in hours or phone consultation hours between Monday 23 December 2024 – Friday 3 January 2025.
We will check and answer our shared mailbox (studieadviseurs-me@tudelft.nl) occasionally, but it may be that your question will have to wait until our return after January 6th. If you have any pressing matters to discuss with us, make sure to contact us in time before the holidays start.
Are you looking for mental support, answers to your questions, contact, help, advice or maybe just want to talk to someone? During the Christmas holidays a MoTiV coach will be there for you. Below you will find the contact details. MoTiv is not for study-related questions.
Who: coach MoTiV How: call +31 15 - 200 60 60 or email support@motiv.tudelft.nl
In case of emergency:
- In life-threatening situations call 112, in case of suicidal ideation call 0800-0113 (only for calls in the Netherlands), otherwise chat on www.113.nl
- There is an emergency number within TU Delft that you can call 24 hours a day on +31 15 - 278 88 88.
Do not hesitate to consult these sources when you are in danger.
Frequent e-mail replies and appointments will start again from January 6th, 2025. Keep in mind that some counsellors are absent longer than others; contact with your frequent counsellor may not be available at January 6th right away.
The academic counsellors can advise you on both personal and study related matters. Because of our independent position, you can speak to us confidentially on all sorts of subjects. Please consult this webpage to find out more about our work and counselling at the faculty of ME.
Consultation hours
The phone consultation hours and walk-in consultation hours are meant for short questions. During a consultation hour, an academic counsellor can take roughly 10 minutes to answer your questions.
Please book an individual appointment if you need more time, because you would like to discuss personal circumstances or a detailed study schedule, for instance. If during a consultation hour it turns out that you may need more time, the academic counsellor can propose to make an appointment.
Please consult this webpage before contacting us. Your contact with an academic counsellor is also confidential during consultation hours.
Do you have an urgent question? Please try to contact us during our daily consultation hours (phone or walk-in). If you were not able to reach us, then send us an email and we will try to help you as soon as possible.
Phone consultation hours
- Monday to Friday: 9.00-10.00 hrs on 015-278 3961
(this phone number is not active outside of phone consultation hours).
Make sure to check Brightspace if there are changes in our availability.
Walk-in consultation hours
- Monday to Friday: 12.30-13.30 hrs (A1-ESA at ME)
Make sure to check Brightspace if there are changes in our availability.
- You can always e-mail us. We will try to answer within a week. Please use studieadviseurs-ME@tudelft.nl to contact us and always mention your student number.
Individual appointments
Appointments are meant to discuss subjects that require a bit more time, such as personal circumstances or drawing up a detailed study schedule. You can book an appointment yourself via our online appointment system; there are two options you can choose from:
- Studieadviseur (academic counsellor) on campus
- Studieadviseur (academic counsellor) online
The availability depends on the meeting type; if you schedule an on-campus meeting, you cannot indicate that you’d like to (video)call via Teams in the remarks; for that, you can book a meeting during one of the available online meetings.
During an appointment, an academic counsellor can take roughly 30 minutes to speak to you. Of course, you can have one or more follow-up meetings after that.
If you have only a short question, we would like to ask you to use a consultation hour or send an e-mail. That way, a student who does require a bit more help, can book their appointment at an earlier point in time.
PLEACE NOTICE!
In case of illness or other personal circumstances that might affect your study, it is important to inform the academic counsellors as soon as possible! If you don’t, it may affect your chances to apply for (financial) support or requests to the Board of Examiners.
