We will remain available by e-mail, though it might take us longer to reply. For appointment options please check the online system

From 26 August onwards

From Monday 26 August onwards, the regular phone consultation hours, walk-in hours at ME, frequent email replies and appointments will start again.

The academic counsellors can advise you on both personal and study related matters. Because of our independent position, you can speak to us confidentially on all sorts of subjects. Please consult this webpage to find out more about our work and counselling at the faculty of ME.

Consultation hours

The phone consultation hours and walk-in consultation hours are meant for short questions. During a consultation hour, an academic counsellor can take roughly 10 minutes to answer your questions.

Please book an individual appointment if you need more time, because you would like to discuss personal circumstances or a detailed study schedule, for instance. If during a consultation hour it turns out that you may need more time, the academic counsellor can propose to make an appointment.

Please consult this webpage before contacting us. Your contact with an academic counsellor is also confidential during consultation hours.

Do you have an urgent question? Please try to contact us during our daily consultation hours (phone or walk-in). If you were not able to reach us, then send us an email and we will try to help you as soon as possible.

Individual appointments

Appointments are meant to discuss subjects that require a bit more time, such as personal circumstances or drawing up a detailed study schedule. You can book an appointment yourself via our online appointment system; there are two options you can choose from:

  1. Studieadviseur (academic counsellor) on campus
  2. Studieadviseur (academic counsellor) online

The availability depends on the meeting type; if you schedule an on-campus meeting, you cannot indicate that you’d like to (video)call via Teams in the remarks; for that, you can book a meeting during one of the available online meetings.

During an appointment, an academic counsellor can take roughly 30 minutes to speak to you. Of course, you can have one or more follow-up meetings after that.

If you have only a short question, we would like to ask you to use a consultation hour or send an e-mail. That way, a student who does require a bit more help, can book their appointment at an earlier point in time.

PLEACE NOTICE!

In case of illness or other personal circumstances that might affect your study, it is important to inform the academic counsellors as soon as possible! If you don’t, it may affect your chances to apply for (financial) support or requests to the Board of Examiners.
