Profile
Fernando Secomandi is an assistant professor of service design for emerging technologies. Fernando's research draws primarily from industrial design and the philosophy of technology. He is currently investigating design’s contribution to social justice through form-giving practices.
Academic Background
Fernando holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design (Esdi-Uerj, 2003), an MSc degree in Strategic Product Design (TU Delft, 2007), and a PhD in Design (TU Delft, 2012). From 2015 to 2021, he taught at the Rio de Janeiro State University (Esdi-Uerj), where he also assumed positions of vice coordinator of the graduate program and coordinator of research. From 2017 to 2021, he consulted part-time for global companies on design-driven innovation for digital transformation.
