I was interested in electrical devices from an early age. Electrical Engineering was a logical choice of study programme for me. I have absolutely no regrets about my choice – it’s great fun in Delft and the teaching is really high-level. The curriculum for the Bachelor's degree programme is more or less fixed. There are no electives, except for the minor in the third year. Personally, I like this a lot. It means that I’m learning everything I need for a comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering.

At secondary school, I was always a hard worker and revised a lot for exams. It's a major step moving up to university, partly because of the amount of self-study you are suddenly expected to do, but I still I find it all quite manageable. The key thing is to be motivated, have an interest in electricity and maths and, of course, good prior knowledge of maths and physics.

Right from the first year, you delve deep into certain aspects of electrical engineering. I really enjoyed the amplifier project because you apply what you’ve learnt in the first courses straight away. I’m also very interested in audio and music, which made the project particularly enjoyable. I’m not yet sure where I’d like to work in the future, but this degree programme gives you such comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering that you could work at almost any engineering company.
