Extra challenges and support
In addition to the Earth, Climate and Technology programme, several opportunities are offered for extra challenge, to network or to further develop yourself during your studies.
Or perhaps you need some some extra guidance instead.
Study abroad
By gaining experience abroad, you develop yourself both personally and professionally. This is of interest to employers both at home and abroad. In your bachelor Earth, Climate and Technology you already gain some experience abroad during the fieldwork which is included in the curriculum. You can also decide to go abroad for your minor or bachelor's end project, for example.
Internship
The curriculum of the Bachelor of Earth, Climate and Technology does not include an internship. However, it is possible to arrange an internship independently outside the curriculum. Every year, the study association 'the MV' organises the Company Days. Here you can easily come into contact with many different companies. A fun way to gain extra practical experience! You will not receive any credits for an internship.
Honours Programme Delft
Ambitious students who are looking for an extra challenge in addition to the standard curriculum can apply for The Delft Honours Programme. This is an addition to your regular study programme in the 2nd and 3rd year. It gives you the opportunity to gain additional knowledge within or outside your field, to work on your personal development and to collaborate with students from other study programmes.
Dream teams
At TU Delft you have the opportunity to be involved in unique student projects that bring students together from different disciplines. These amazing student projects include the world's fastest bicycle, fastest solar-powered car, and the altitude record for amateur-built rockets. Our teams compete in global competitions and achieve fantastic results that put TU Delft on the map.
Elite sports
Do you want to become a top athlete during your studies? TU Delft supports students who combine their studies with elite sports and invests in the development of talent inside and outside the lecture halls. As it is often difficult to combine a regular study programme with a top sports education, we offer special facilities for recognized top athletes. This includes coaching by study advisors and top sports coordinators, financial support in the form of the Graduation Support Regulations, sponsorship and access to the sports facilities at X.
Each study programme has one or more study advisors that you can turn to with questions about the content of the programme, its organization and everything that comes with it. Do you have questions about matters that go beyond your academic education? Career and Counseling Services has a team of student counsellors, psychologists and study choice and career advisers who can support you. The service is based on 5 pillars: Basic Study Skills, Learning to Collaborate, Making Choices during your Study (choice of study), Career Development and Self-Knowledge & Self-Management. There are - mostly free - (online) workshops, training courses, online material, walk-in consultation hours and the possibility of one-on-one conversations. For questions about studying with a disability, you can find more information here.
Mentoring
During the first semester of your studies, you will be assigned a mentor. This means that as a first-year student, you and about 10 other first-year students will be paired up with a student mentor from a higher year. The mentor will help you on your way with all kinds of practical matters concerning your studies. In addition, your mentor group is also the study group you follow subjects with in the first term.
