The BSc Aerospace Engineering only allows a limited number of students to start each year. The selection procedure intends to assess how well the applicant matches the educational programme.

Important evaluation criteria are the applicant’s motivation and level of academic knowledge and skills. If you want to study in our bachelor programme you must participate in this procedure. Read here about the steps in the selection process. 

Unfortunately, it is only possible to start the BSc programme of Aerospace Engineering at the TU Delft in September.

You can apply without your final grades if you send your most recent list of grades. However your final secondary school diploma needs to be send to the International Office in June.

Unfortunately it is not possible to apply without the results of your proficiency in English so make sure that you plan the English test as soon as possible so that you have the results before the application deadline. 

TU Delft employs the BSA system: the binding recommendation on the continuation of studies. This means that you must obtain at least 75% of your credits (i.e. 45 of the 60 ECTS) in your first year in order to continue your programme.

If you receive a negative binding recommendation on the continuation of studies, you will not be permitted to enroll in this programme again in the next 4 years.

A normal day of lectures starts at 08.45 and finishes at 17.30. Students spend an average of 30 hours a week at the faculty, excluding independent study time. Generally speaking, lectures are not compulsory, but most laboratory courses and projects are subject to attendance requirements. The lecturers choose suitable methods for conveying the subject matter, such as the explanation of theory in lectures, the application of theory during small-scale classroom lessons and working with other students in projects.

The average time to complete the BSc and MSc is seven years. this might seem like quite a long time for a five year programme, however, some students decide to extend their study time due to internships, work, sports or other activities on the side.

You have to choose a specialisation after completing the BSc programme, when you decide on your MSc. During your BSc you have some freedom to choose your own minor in the third year, apart from this all your courses are mandatory. 

Within the MSc Aerospace Engineering five tracks are offered, within those tracks you can find different profiles. During the MSc you also choose a few elective courses. The five tracks are the following:

Yes, the programme is fully taught in English.

No, this programme offers no education towards becoming a pilot or astronaut. 

Every year, TU Delft organises a laptop project.This project enables (future) students and employees to buy a laptop at discount price. You can find more information here. It is not mandatory to buy your laptop via the TU Delft.

No, TU Delft does not offer scholarships for any of its bachelor programmes. For MSc programmes, however, there are several scholarships available.

It is not necessary to learn the Dutch language to survive in the Netherlands since most people can communicate in English. However, the university does offer some opportunities to learn the Dutch language for those interested. However the Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and all MSc programmes at TU Delft are taught entirely in English.
