Profile
Stefano Parisi is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Department of Sustainable Design Engineering at TU Delft, the Netherlands. His research focuses on Materials Experience and Material-Driven Design practices, with an emphasis on human and planetary well-being. His last research project, funded by lululemon athletica, explores material-, embodied experience-, and emotion-centred approaches to textile design for activewear applications. He teaches and co-coordinates the Master’s course in Material-Driven Design. In 2024, he co-founded the Centre of Design Research for Regenerative Material Ecologies (DREAM).

Academic background
He holds a BSc and MSc in Product Design from the Design School at the Politecnico di Milano. In 2021, he completed a PhD in Design at the Politecnico di Milano, with the thesis "Design for Hybrid Material Systems. A material augmentation framework for meaningful experiences.” During his PhD, he contributed to several European-funded projects focused on sustainable design approaches with and for emerging and advanced materials—including bio-, reclaimed, and smart materials. These projects include: DATEMATS – Knowledge & Technology Transfer of Emerging Materials & Technologies through a Design-Driven Approach (www.datemats.eu); DESTEX - industrial and creative design in Advanced Textile Manufacturing (www.destex.eu); MaDe - Materials Designers. Boosting Talent towards Circular Economies (www.materialdesigners.org).
