S. (Stefano) Parisi PhD
Profile
Stefano Parisi is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering - Department of Sustainable Design Engineering. His research interests are about Materials Experience and Material-Driven Design practices, with an emphasis on human and planetary well-being. His current research project is funded by lululemon athletica and revolves around material-, embodied experience-, and emotion-centred approaches for textile design in activewear applications. He is teaching and co-coordinating the Master course in Material-Driven Design.
He holds a BSc and MSc in Product Design (Politecnico di Milano, Design School). In 2021, he accomplished a PhD in Design, with the thesis "Design for Hybrid Material Systems. A material augmentation framework for meaningful experiences", at Politecnico di Milano, where he contributed to European-funded projects focused on sustainable design approaches with and for emerging and advanced materials (from bio-, to reclaimed, to smart materials): DESTEX - industrial and creative design in Advanced Textile Manufacturing (www.destex.eu), DATEMATS – Knowledge & Technology Transfer of Emerging Materials & Technologies through a Design-Driven Approach (www.datemats.eu), and MaDe - Materials Designers. Boosting Talent towards Circular Economies (www.materialdesigners.org).
