Profile
Shatha Degachi is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. Shatha's work investigates interaction design for appropriate trust and trust calibration within the context of generative conversational search and digital health. The work explores generative conversation agents as a novel medium for designing trustworthiness cues and affordances, inspired by appropriate trust research in the fields of decision-making and automated driving. Further, by locating this research within the domain of digital health, the work investigates how increased cognitive load (as driven by low health literacy) moderates trust formation and calibration. This work is part of a larger project in collaboration with Erasmus MC aiming to support health lifestyle improvements in low income young families relating to nutrition and stress.
