With the facilities of the Reactor Institute Delft, a great variety of research can be perfomed on various systems and materials.
Structure and composition of solid state matter can be determined under controlled conditions (e.g. temperature, pressure). The same goes for soft condensed matter.
The neutrons from the reactor offer a unique possibility to investigate magnetic structures and properties.
The composition and behaviour of thin layers can be observed with positrons and neutrons.
Granular matter as well as colloidal systems, with particle sizes from nanometers to millimeters, can be investigated with various instruments at RID.
