On March 8 Jan Kwakkel will give his inaugural speech: “The evil of premature aggregation”.
Models and quantitative analyses more broadly play a significant role in public policymaking. Many will still be able to recall the graphs and tables shown during Covid press conferences when another measure was announced. However, uncertainty about the future and disagreements about the system under study and what objectives to pursue can equally result in gridlock, preventing decision-making from proceeding. In his inaugural address, prof.dr. ir. Jan Kwakkel will discuss novel quantitative policy analysis methods for supporting decision-making in such contexts.
