Existential Tuesday: How would you trigger a global revolution?
08 October 2024 12:45 till 13:30 - Location: The Nook | Add to my calendar
History is full of tales of revolution. Most of them bloody, some of them less so (especially in recent times). Nearly two centuries ago, Karl Marx had the idea of a world revolution: a class struggle all around the globe, of the proletariat (working class) overcoming the bourgeoisie (owner class). And sure enough, revolutions – whether Marxist or otherwise – in one country have often triggered revolutions in others. But will the world ever face a truly global revolution? If so, what could trigger it?
Which revolution do you imagine happening in your lifetime? Why? How would it spread? What would you want to do, who would you do it with, and how would you go about it? Let’s come up with one together.
(Wikihow, of all places, has a template for revolutions to give you some starting ideas)
This is an intellectual exercise in disruptive behavior, technology, and organization. Be prepared to think creatively.
