Purple Friday 2024

13 December 2024 00:00 till 23:55 | Add to my calendar

On Purple Friday, several TU Delft student associations organise activities on campus to increase visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community.

We would like to emphasise that all activities are free to both students and staff, because besides the fact that you might attend the activities at your own faculty, the other student associations will also enjoy getting to know students and staff from other faculties.

So if you have the time, be sure to check out the activities at one of the other faculties on campus!

We have made a list with all the information from the different study associations and faculties and how they are implementing Purple Friday 2024.

At the Elektrotechnische Vereniging (ETV), the D&I committee is active in the boardroom with low-key activities such as nail painting and interactive moments, with a special focus on conversations about diversity and inclusion. W.I.S.V. ‘Christiaan Huygens’ (CH) is also participating with similar initiatives. Both associations will be present in the main hall to hand out flyers and create awareness.

There will also be an interactive lunch lecture organised by Outsite. This will take place in the EEMCS lecture Hall Boole between 12:45 and 13:30 and everyone is welcome.

Variscopic, Company Leeghwater and Froude are working with faculty and the D&I officer to shape Purple Friday. The faculty will organise an inspiring lunchtime lecture with the theme "Allyship and Networking". This lecture emphasises the importance of allyship and networking within TU Delft and is open to all students and staff. The lecture will take place from 12:45 to 14:00 in room ME-Hall H (34.D-1-100) and will be given in English. Coffee and tea will be provided.

In addition, the student associations will create an interactive space in the foyer with games such as Wheel of Fortune, a quiz, and nail polish activities to encourage awareness and engagement.

Everyone is welcome and Outside will provide free delicious sandwiches.
In the Atrium of TNW South, students and staff can get free poffertjes between 11:00 and 15:00 and the student associations will bring colour to the association rooms with biscuits, purple smoothies and you can get your nails painted purple.

So TNW South is the place to be on Purple Friday if you like tasty snacks!
