Spatial Justice Workshop at Symposium Benchmarking Spatial Justice in Practice - Delft Design for Values Institute
30 November 2023 09:00 till 17:00 | Add to my calendar
The Delft Design for Values Institute invites you to join the Symposium on Spatial Justice in Practice. During the symposium, the institute will give a workshop on how Design for Values resonates with the three tenets of justice and contributes to spatial justice.
Marielle Feenstra, the coordinator of Delft Design for Values will give an insight why and how designing for values, such as justice, positively contributes to the effects of technologies in society. Design for values is a design approach aimed at integrating values in all stages of the design process. The involvement of end-users and stakeholders in the design process is one example of integrating justice in design.
The symposium is organized by the TU Delft Centre for the Just City in the framework of UP2030, one of the lead organisers is Dr. Roberto Rocco, also member of the institute. The Horizon Europe project aims to support cities in driving the socio-technical transitions required to meet their climate neutrality targets by leveraging urban planning and design. It has spatial justice as one of its main frameworks for policy and project design, implementation, and assessment. It will take place on 30 November at TU Delft and 1 and 5 December online.
The workshop of Design for Values will take place on 30 November, between 13:10-13:40. Overall, the symposium aims to foster discussions and exchange that allow us to take a step further in the formulation of frameworks, indicators, and benchmarks for the practical application of spatial justice.
Delft Design for Values members can attend the symposium for a reduced fee of 25 euros.
