One of the most researched topics in the field of educational psychology is self-regulated learning (SRL). Self-regulated learners are described as successful learners who are skilful in directing and steering various aspects of their learning (e.g., setting goals, planning, use of effective learning strategies) towards goal attainment. All of us are learners and educators. In this digital age where learning is not bound by space and time, the ability to self-regulate one's learning and optimising the learning process are important.
In this talk, Jacqueline will present her studies on supporting self-regulated online learning. We will discuss the potential of learning analytics and statistics to examine the process of learning and enablers of success in online learning environment. Linda, a current master's student in statistics, will share her experience as an intern working on data in educational research. There will be opportunities to discuss how both the fields of statistics and educational psychology benefit from each other.
