MSc thesis of Nitish Kulkarni
To ensure that the HV equipment can withstand the complex stresses generated due to Power electronic converters in the grid, it is important to be able to test these components with these signals. A new MMC-based arbitrary waveshape generator is being designed for HV testing applications. This thesis intends to design and demonstrate the feasibility of an integrated hybrid configuration of an MMC and impulse generator. It also highlights the capabilities of Typhoon HIL to implement the control of MMC for HV testing applications. Real-time simulation results and hardware implementation are used to demonstrate the feasibility.”
