Optimal Power Flow Control in Wireless Power Transfer for EV Charging
Project description
Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) as a hot topic has been studied a lot recently. WPT can be categorized into three types according to its principles: 1) Microwave; 2) Electric filed coupling; 3) Magnetic field coupling. The principle of the WPT discussed in this PhD topic will be the third one, therefore, it is also called Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) technology.
The PhD topic is to realize wireless power transfer through a whole battery charging process efficiently and safely even influenced by parameter variations, for example, variable mutual inductance influence, battery charging requirement (power, voltage and current variations.)
In order to achieve this PhD goal, high-efficient power electronics converters are necessary which can not only satisfy the EV charging requirements but also keep the system in a high-efficient state.
Research of power electronics converters used for (high-power) WPT system is the focus of the PhD topic
