Employability rankings

THE and QS rankings both have an employability ranking. THE aims to demonstrate how recruiters from top companies rate universities in preparing their students for the job market. The results are based on a Global University Employability Survey designed by Emerging (a French HR consultancy firm) and conducted by Trendence.

The QS Graduate Employability Ranking aims to measure (1) how good a reputation an institution has with employers, (2) to what extent an institution acts as a breeding ground for ‘high achievers’, (3) how strong an institution’s links with companies are and (4) how eager companies are to attract an institution’s graduates. The results are partly based on an employer survey but this ranking also takes into account publications with top companies, the presence of employers on campus, the alma maters of "high achievers" and the percentage of graduates who have a paid job within 12 months.

Most international Universities in the world, THE

This ranking is based on international indicators that are also used for the THE World University Ranking, namely: international students, international staff, international co-authorship and international reputation.

World Reputation Rankings, THE

This ranking is referred to as the list of “the most powerful global university brands” and is considered to be quite prestigious because it only awards 100 positions. The results are based on surveys conducted among leading academics who are asked to name a maximum of 15 universities that, in their experience, excel in the field of education and research. 

Reuters top 100 most innovative universities

For this ranking, Claricate Analytics identifies over of 600 universities that publish the most academic research. The scores are based on ten indicators, which primarily relate to patents. These are: Patent volume, patent success, global patents, patent citations, patent citation impact, percent of patent cited, patent to article citation impact, industry article citation impact, percent of industry collaborative articles, total web of science core collection papers. 

U-multirank

This is a multidimensional ranking designed to address the criticism levelled at many of the other rankings. This ranking doesn’t result in definitive league tables; it collects data for a wide range of indicators and you, the user, can decide which ones are important to you. Then, if you want, you can use the indicators you selected to benchmark. There are no absolute scores or rankings – universities are awarded scores for the various indicators on a scale from 1 to 5.

UI Green Metric

The UI Green Metric is a campus sustainability ranking that was introduced by Universitas Indonesia. Indicators used to determine the scores are: campus infrastructure and whether the campus qualifies as a “green campus” (15%), energy use in the face of climate change (21%), waste management (18%), water use (10%), mobility on campus (18%) and education and research in the area of sustainability (18%).

World University Rankings by MOOC Performance

This is a fairly new ranking that ranks universities based on their MOOC performance. The indicators used are: the number of MOOCs offered (10%), learning pathways (15%), micro-credentials (20%), MOOC-based degrees (20%) and average world university ranking in the QS, THE and ARWU rankings (35%).
