Career Prospects

Job prospects for graduates of the Applied Physics programme are very good. Graduates find work in both the private and the public sector, in such fields as R&D, consultancy, management and education. Excellent students can also choose to pursue a PhD degree at TU Delft or another leading university.

In recent years, some 80% of all applied physics graduates have found work within three months (source: Nationale Alumni Enquête 2019), and many students have job offers before they graduate. Companies that have employed recent graduates include Shell, BP, Philips, Corus, ASML, Philips, TNO, McKinsey, BCG, Bain and Company, Optiver, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
