Ole Aasvik, MPhil

Profile

Aasvik got his master’s in social psychology from the University of Oslo (UiO) in 2017. This education has given him competence in investigating behavior change through interventions and quantitative research methods and analyses. Furthermore, he has a general knowledge about psychological science and its application to the real world. 

Since then, he has been working as a researcher at the Institute of Transport Economics (TØI) in Oslo. Here he works at the research area of behavior and transportation, with topics such as driver’s inattention, conditions for cyclists and autonomous vehicles. He has several scientific publications, has co-written several TØI-report, and has project manager experience.

Research

In august 2021, he started his PhD within the field of acceptance of autonomous vehicles. This research specifically seeks to investigate the social situation in small, shared autonomous vehicles in the public transport system. The project is a collaborative effort between TØI, UiO, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, the main public transport authority in the Oslo-area (Ruter) and TU Delft. 

His supervisors are prof. dr. Marjan Hagenzieker at TU Delft and TØI, and associate professor Pål Ulleberg at UiO.
