How can we predict the safety level in traffic? How can the fields of traffic engineering and behavioural sciences benefit from each other to develop valid models for safety predictions which take into account the road, vehicle, and human? Are crash prediction models still useful? Can we predict crashes from surrogate safety measures by using advanced statistical methods? How reliable and valid are these models?
