Dentists
Dentistry is privatised in the Netherlands. Children through the age of 18, however, receive free dental care by law.
Find and register with a dentist before you need one. Many practices are full and therefore do not accept new patients.
Customarily people have a dental check-up every 6 to 12 months. Dentistry is not covered by the basic health insurance, except for children under 18. It is, however, possible to take out supplemental dental insurance. Contact your health insurance company if you are interested in this.
