Discover the flora and fauna on the TU Delft Campus in a biodiversity tour - sign up!

News - 09 May 2024

On Wednesday 22 May during the National Biodiversity Day, you can join two unique biodiversity tours on the TU Delft Campus. Explore the TU Delft Hortus Botanicus or join Green Manager René Hoonhout, PhD Urban Ecology Design Rosa de Wolf and dr.ir. Nico Tilie on a bee tour of the campus. Sign up!

A high biodiversity on the TU Delft Campus is important for a healthy ecosystem. In the coming years, we will work towards an ‘EcoCampus’, a campus where people and nature live side by side and a campus that is climate-adaptive. This contributes to a carbon neutral, circular and climate-adaptive campus in 2030, with a focus on biodiversity and the quality of life.

Biodiversity tours

Sign up for one of the biodiversity tours on Wednesday 22 May 2024 via the links below. A limited number of places are available for these tours.

Walk along in the TU Delft Hortus Botanicus

TU Delft's Hortus Botanicus has devoted attention to botanical research and education for more than 100 years. The Hortus Botanicus is a source of biodiversity, innovations and applications that also contributes to TU Delft's sustainability ambitions.

This tour starts at 12.30pm with a short introduction on biodiversity by dr. James Byng. After the introduction the group will be split into two. One group will explore biodiversity in the Hortus with dr. Byng, the other group will discover what the Hortus greenhouses have to offer. The tour lasts 60 minutes.
