Alexios Voulimeneas Wins Prestigious Award for Cybersecurity Research
Alexios Voulimeneas (https://alexios-voulimeneas.github.io/), Assistant Professor in EEMCS/INSY Cybersecurity group (https://www.tudelft.nl/en/eemcs/the-faculty/departments/intelligent-systems/cybersecurityeemcs) and his co-authors from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and DistriNet Research Unit, KU Leuven won the Distinguished Paper Award with Artifact at the Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC 2024; https://www.acsac.org/) for the paper:
"I’ll Be There for You! Perpetual Availability in the A8 MVX System" André Rösti, Stijn Volckaert, Michael Franz, and Alexios Voulimeneas.
ACSAC is one of the oldest and most selective conferences in the area of computer security. This work supercharges Multi-Variant eXecution (MVX) systems, a comprehensive defense technique, with checkpoint/restore facilities, adding availability on top of strong security guarantees. This is important to harden critical infrastructure such as web servers against hostile environments, while enabling survivability of long-standing services.
This recognition highlights the cutting-edge contributions of TU Delft’s cybersecurity researchers to securing tomorrow’s critical systems.
