“Unravelling the cause-and-effect dynamics within the human brain demands precise external neurostimulation signals and the ability to meticulously track their propagation. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack, but we're fortunate to have a clear picture of that needle."

Frans van der Helm, professor Biomechatronics and Bio-robotics

Membership TU Delft EBRAINS

In becoming an associate member of EBRAINS, TU Delft gains the unique opportunity to actively contribute to the development of cutting-edge tools and services. These encompass a wide spectrum of advanced capabilities, including data sharing, brain mapping, modelling, simulation, high-performance computing, and neurorobotics. TU Delft excels in pioneering methods and cutting-edge instrumentation for neurostimulation, with applications ranging from addressing tinnitus to Deep Brain Stimulation in patients grappling with Parkinson's disease. Notably, in the 4DEEG project, TU Delft has made significant strides in tracing signal propagation through the brain, a pivotal development to enhance the effectiveness of neurostimulation therapies.

TU Delft is looking forward to a close collaboration with neuroscience research groups across Europe. This collaborative spirit is driven by a shared commitment to advancing the field and ultimately improving the lives of patients grappling with neurological disorders, including those affected by conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, and migraine.

We're very pleased to welcome Delft University of Technology as an associate member at EBRAINS. The university boasts considerable experience in the development of neurostimulation methods.

Katrin Amunts, Joint Chief Executive Officer of EBRAINS

Through this membership TU Delft researchers are poised to engage proactively in teams dedicated to digital neuroscience, brain medicine, and brain-inspired technology. This collaborative venture promises to unlock exciting avenues for advancing brain-related research, effectively bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and their real-world applications in medicine and industry. I think this collaboration can bring us a lot.

Wouter Serdijn, professor Bio-Electronics
